Eli Magic is one of the most alternative artists , singer , songwriter in post millennium pop.
This Cincinnati native born Gene Borders started singing and dancing at an early age. His passion for the art was inspired by many of his peers, such as Chris Brown, Lil Wayne , The Weeknd , and Usher to name a few. But it was the magic , and showmanship of Michael Jackson that influenced him the most.
Eli’s gift for writing music comes from a higher source within from untimely experiences . His mom, also a singer and preacher, developed a brain aneurysm; that forced Eli and his siblings to move with family members. Eventually Eli was placed in foster care and this unique up bringing forged him into the unique person / artist he is today.
At the age of 11, he was awarded to his sister 9 years his senior . Growing up in the rough projects of Cincinnati , Eli decided one day he’ll turn his struggles around . He worked different types of jobs and sometimes hung out with the wrong crowd . He attended a school for the performing arts , where he was very popular and most likely to succeed.
He set out for California, but a move to St.Louis, MO led to being discovered by DonRico Humphrey, the CEO of Promo Live Entertainment, who is now the singer manager and business partner.
In 2018 he released his debut single ” Da Man ” where he brags about finally being in control of his own life . The catchy club banger track got people talking about this rising talent . Continuing to perfect his craft he attended Jane Smith pka Mama J ( fame vocal coach of Usher Raymond and Justin Bieber ) artist boot camp in Atlanta, GA . She took exceptional interest in Eli and still today he gets better one note at a time.
In 2019 Eli released ” A Magic Christmas ” EP , an EP with 6 classic remakes including John Lennon’s ” Happy X -Mas ” featuring The St.Louis Children Choir . But it was the title track and video ” A Magic Christmas ” penned by Eli Magic that was the EP standout .
Eli partnered up with Macy’s Corporation for a Black Friday in store concert . And was invited as a special guest performer at the one and only Powell Symphony Hall in St.Louis MO.
Eli’s latest release ” Different ” (2021) features R&B Sensation Luh Kel. This melodic summer anthem is surely one for the dance floor , Radio, and your playlists. This very well is the song of the summer of 2021. The song’s first week reached 200k streams on Spotify alone.
